Workforce Development Grants (WIOA & P2E)

You may qualify for workforce funding through your local county’s employment or job training office.

Programs like WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and P2E (Prison to Employment) can help cover the cost of approved vocational training, including welding programs.

These grants are designed to support individuals who are unemployed, underemployed, or looking to re-enter the workforce.

Funding may be available in Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, and San Diego Counties.

AWS Welding Scholarships

Explore scholarship opportunities from the American Welding Society’s Los Angeles and Inland Empire Section. Awards range from $1,000 to $1,250 and support welders pursuing training or certification.

Bring Back the Trades awards one scholarship per month during the school year to an eligible student.
Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs provides scholarships twice each year to students pursuing degrees or certifications that will lead to manufacturing careers.
Lockheed Martin’s Vocational Scholarship Program is the first of its kind within the aerospace and defense industry and awards up to $6,600 to as many as 150 recipients each year.
The Rock the Trades™ Scholarship Program empowers the dreams of those pursuing careers in the skilled industrial trades across the United States
The Work Ethic Scholarship Program is about recognizing people who understand the importance of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude.

California Welding Institute is proud to support our military veterans and their families. Eligible students may be able to use GI Bill education benefits to help cover the cost of training.

Workman’s Compensation (SJDB) vouchers are accepted for eligible students. If you have an approved retraining voucher through a California workers’ comp claim, contact our admissions team for assistance.
GI Bill benefits may be available for eligible military veterans. If you plan to use VA education funding, contact our admissions team for guidance on next steps.

Some students choose to explore personal financing through third-party lenders like Experian, PayPal Credit, or Lendmark Financial Services. These options are not affiliated with our school but may help cover training costs. Be sure to review terms carefully before applying.

The California Indian Manpower Consortium, Inc. (CIMC) provides employment and training services to eligible Native Americans through programs funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

CIMC supports the educational and economic advancement of recognized tribes, tribal groups, and Native American communities across California.
