- Becoming an L.A City Deputy Inspector
- Seeking professional development hours or continuing education units
- Learning how to write Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Welding Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), Welder Qualification Test Records (WQTRs)
- Learning destructive testing techniques (including but not limited to bend test, metallographic testing, tensile test)
